Goodnight Molly Amelia

After a long day of playing,

we start the bedtime routine.  As soon as we go upstairs she starts getting silly and excited because 50% of the time bedtime starts with a bath.

And Molly loves bath time.  Except for the washing of hair and body.  That part sucks.  She always tells us, "baths are for playing and splashing people!"

After bath, she gets all jammied up and we head downstairs for some end-of-the-day playtime.

Sometime between 6 and 7 she turns into a crankbutt and we head upstairs.  Occasionally she falls asleep nursing but either way, she gets one last diaper change, snuggled up in her sleep sack,

and we sit down to read The Going to Bed Book with Wubba (Wubbamonkey joined us for storytime tonight).

Then it's heater, nightlight, and noise on and we sing this little homemade ditty:
Cuddle Bug
Snug in a Rug
You're my Molly
I Love You!

She lies down awake and hopefully sleeps until at least 7:00 the next morning....if Mommy's lucky.

P.S. - I've had a couple questions come up repeatedly in the last few weeks.  The first: I've changed the settings and now anyone can comment on posts - you shouldn't have to log in anymore.  The second: I don't mind anyone sharing this blog with people, with the exception of (a) known or suspected pedophiles - profiling encouraged here or (b) potential kidnappers.  We discussed and for now we're not entirely concerned but we may, down the road, make it private/invite only when she is less baby and more little girl.
