You can find footsie ones but it is more difficult and they are more expensive. I might be a bit extreme on this point but my goal is not to spend more than $5 per pair. Today we stocked up (thank you $4.98 rack at Walmart).
The upcoming birthday....
We got her a wagon for her actual birthday but that is not making the trip to Chicago with us for her Irish Fiesta party so I wanted to pick up something small. She's recently been obsessed with stacking things and putting things together so I thought baby legos would be a good idea.
First of all there is a "girl section" of the toy department and a "boy section" of the toy department. I found options in both:
You can bet your bottom dollar I went with the boy option. Besides, it isn't just for boys anyway. It has blocks of all different colors including pink and purple. Why couldn't that set be in the girl section too? Or a better question: why is there a girl section and a boy section in the first place? Why isn't there just a "building block" section? Maybe if "girly" didn't mean someone spilled a bottle of Pepto-Bismal on it it wouldn't bother me as much.
Speaking of things that are beyond my realm of understanding, the flowers in the backyard are blooming and - at the risk of causing them to spontaneously die - I thought Molly and I should venture back and take a look at them.

| She is significantly more concerned with picking the grass and handing it to me. |
So, I got all these cute pictures and then bent down to get a close-up of her face in the bright sunlight and WHAMO! There is an enormous ant crawling across her face. Like perilously close to her mouth. She was millimeters from an ant crawling into her mouth. Into her mouth. BLAH.
I freaked and did what anyone would do if you had a bug crawling on you...I smacked it off. Unfortunately, she didn't quite fully grasp the situation at hand and was none to pleased with me smacking at her face. At her face people. I was smacking it off of her face. Not trying to kill it against her face.
She forgave me.
And still likes to be outside.
