Two Video Posts In A Row?

I know.  But so many of her new antics are more appropriately captured this way.

Ryan came into Molly's room where we were playing and started to do push-ups.  Molly spontaneously laid on her belly and started mimicking him.  It.  Was.  Hilarious.

I, of course, didn't have my phone handy when it happened naturally so this video is actually after I ran to get my phone and we asked her to do it again.

She doesn't get nearly as into it.

She has also been focusing her energy on developing some new dance moves.  She's got moves you've never seen.

And, in case you needed any more evidence that Ryan has forced all of his traits on this little baby, she is obsessed with animals.

Her current favorite book is If You Give A Moose A Muffin.  She will actually sit and let me "read" the whole book.  Really I just explain the story very simply using the pictures.

But, thanks to all her books, and her room decorations, and her stuffed animals, and her sheets, and our zoo membership, she is quite the little animal expert.

When asked, she can point out a:  giraffe, turtle, birdie, bumblebee, alligator, fishy, doggie, kitty cat, duck, squirrel, elephant, and monkey.  We're currently practicing identifying: piggie, hippo, chicken, sheep, froggie, moose, and cow.

To put some icing on that animal identification cake, she can now mimic the following animal sounds:  doggie, kitty cat, elephant (motion), fishy, monkey, and squirrel (motion).

(And, oh god, ignore my elephant noise.)

You may be wondering where the squirrel fits into all this....

There are approximately 42.5 squirrels that frolic in our backyard.  She will spot every single one the minute it comes into her sensory range.  If you're outside and she all of sudden starts funnily "biting" her knuckles, that means a squirrel is nearby and if you ask her, she will point it out to you.

Lastly a cute story.

We went to Kohls today and as we walked in we noticed the Kohl's Cares book rack was full of Curious George this time around.  They had one Curious George stuffed animal left and it was so cute. So I went over with Mol and said "O look Moo, what a cute little monkey!"  She looked up at me with this huge cheesy grin and her arms outstretched to hug George.  As she wrapped her arms around his neck, she "rocked" him back and forth, that hambone smile plastered to her face.  It was at this point that I heard a voice behind me say, "If you don't buy her that, I will."  I turned around to see a little grandma-like lady smiling at us.

So I did.

And you know what they say, if you buy Molly a George....Mama's gonna want the books to go with it!

  2. Jumping jacks would be hysterical. Does Ryan have the coordination to follow Molly's lead?
