Molly has my organizing gene I think (she says as she does a little joyous jig around the room).
She likes to put things back away, insists that "icky" gets thrown away, remembers which things belong together and wants to keep them together....ya know, the usual 17 month old things.
But this weekend she learned that you can make an adult bib out of a regular ol' napkin (thanks Dada). I turned around from cleaning the kitchen as she enjoyed lunch and saw her putting this great little tip to work.
And, she now gets...I'd almost called it OFFENDED....when I empty or fill the dishwasher without her. This was from yesterday when I let her put everything into the bottom rack all by herself.
We may have some "space efficiency" lessons ahead of us.
Her words are getting out of control. I officially cannot list them all out anymore. Instead I think Ryan summed it up best when he said, "The way Molly talks....she'd make a good German."
She's starting to string words together. "More {fill-in-the-blank}". "Inada" (I'm all done). "Ina more" (I want more.) And even when she can't actually get things together in a sentence-like way, she can string her random words together in a way that very obviously gets her point across. "Mama. Aars. Jeesh. Juice (sucking face). Baba." (Translation: Mother, I'd like to go downstairs and watch my favorite movie Cars on TV with some juice and my baby doll.") If this string of words is followed by her putting almost her entire fist in her mouth...then she'd also like snack for her and baby.
And, much awaited news...Molly can blow kisses. Ryan had been working with her on this to no avail. Then, this weekend, when we were saying goodbye to Uncle Colin and Aunt Erin, Colin requested it of her and she just did it. Just like that. I wonder how long she's been able to it and has just been hiding it from us.
She also gives what we call "lip kisses" now. No more big open mouth kiss. When you request a lip kiss (because the alternative - and more traditional - "kiss" will result in you getting her forehead) she will either give you her bottom lip stuck out or her tongue sticking out between her lips.

It brightens my day to see all the new things my Molly is learning to do. She is such a big girl now!
