So when Molly first starting teething - somewhere amidst her fourth month - I noticed a slightly discolored looking spot on the front side of her tongue. It looked kinda like a canker sore but it never went away. Then over the last 13 months or so, I've noticed it over and over looking different each time. Sometimes it is peeling skin...like she burned her tongue there. Sometimes it just looks a little white and smooth. But it never goes away.
And then, the other day (Thursday) we woke up and it looked like this.
So I called the pediatrician - he wanted to see her.
He didn't know what it was or why it would have suddenly gotten big and blistery looking. So he told us to see her dentist.
The next day we went to see the pediatric dentist and he said he didn't know what it was.
They said maybe she had a habit of chewing on it (but one would think I would notice that if she's been doing it constantly since she was 4 months old). They said maybe there was a blocked gland and as it grows and gets in her way it ruptures.
So, they've referred us to an oral surgeon. Just to see if he knows what it could be and to see if it is anything we need to do anything with.
By the end of Thursday, it was back down to its normal size and it's regular weird looking self.
But, despite that disgusting picture and tale, Molly is still cute.

those blisters look painful! has she seemed bothered by them? When do you see the oral surgeon?she doesn't seem phased by the alien growths on her tongue, such a trooper!
