Taming The Mollet, The Art Of The Selfie, And Snow Shoveling Child Labor Style

With our first Christmas party of the season last night, we decided it was time to tame Mol's wild Mollet-y locks and gave her a little evening out trim.  You're welcome.

Maybe trimming her hair awakened a dormant sense of vanity or something but...Molly now loves a good selfie...

Today we're all snowed out!  Shoveled the driveway three times and looks like we'll be doing it again shortly.  Luckily we've embraced child labor.  This girl loves it and looks good doing it.

And if you think I'm kidding...

She has her own Molly sized shovel and actually pushes that snow (or "mess" as she calls it) around.  Pay no attention to the fact that in these pictures she is pushing the snow INTO the garage...

Of course, I can't resist the opportunity for a photo shoot.

Neither can Dada.
(Notice, Molly insists on mimicking what you do in a picture.  She had to squat like Dada for this one.)

Abominable 2013

So, we tried to take more Christmas pictures...

This is what I got.

Still a couple weeks left to keep trying.

But we did go outside yesterday and enjoy some of the snow that started to accumulate.  And - more importantly - Molly got to give this year's abominable suit a go.

Snow babies!

Adelyn is trying to tickle Molly here....just a hunch, but I don't think Molly can feel it.

What Should Be A Christmas Post Is Actually....

Mostly about a llama and a photographer.

But let's start at the beginning....

Twas the 7th of December when we stopped being lazy
and galavanted off to go Christmas tree crazy!

Our mission was simple; find an evergreen tree
one that would hopefully not fall on the baby.

We went to the farm and looked around
apparently late cuz not many were left in the ground.

We finally found just the right one
as Molly repeatedly yelled "all done!"

And then as we're leaving, a terrible aroma
we walked right by a holiday llama!

At first it was friendly
and Molly seemed smitten.

Until he tried to steal
Molly's teeny tiny mitten!

Fast forward 24 hours later
the tree was standing (almost entirely stable).

We strung on the lights and the shiny red beads,
taking pictures and howling, "Molly!  Be still please!"

Alas, it was to no avail...
"These pictures are blurry!!!" Dada howled with a wail.

And so we gave up, there were ornaments to hang.
Molly was distracted by a bell she constantly rang.

As Mama and Dada continued decorating alone
Molly set off on a task of her own.

She found that camera we tried hard to use
and it decided it was something she could easily do.

She tilted and focused and snapped shot after shot.
Capturing holiday moments that we could not.

A Christmas prep weekend we will always remember
also check out this pic I just found from September!
